School events, church events, community events, and family events. Christmas shopping, Christmas baking, and Christmas decorating. The Christmas season is full of events, gatherings and “to do’s”. Most are things I love and look forward to all year. Some are not.

I can’t wait to…

I love Christmas trees! The lights. The ornaments. The smell. I love waking up in the morning to the scent of a freshly cut Christmas tree. I love sitting by the tree in the evening with a cup of cocoa in my hands.

Thanksgiving is almost here, and I have many things to be grateful for. Here are a few more things on my list.

Thanksgiving is almost here, and I have many things to be grateful for. Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to share a few things that top my list.

The parks, the waterfront, and my neighborhood. These are places I enjoy in my hometown all year, but in the fall, they really put on a show.

The golden maples were stunning as we drove the winding road on the way to our destination. Even if the view we were hoping to see was blocked by clouds when we arrived this drive alone was making the trip well worth it.

Scott and I were traveling on Forest Road 23 on our way to Takhlakh Lake, and maybe a little side trip to Twin Falls. I couldn’t wait to see these places with fall color after visiting them earlier in the summer. We had a full day planned for what looked like could be the last sunny day of the fall.

The 2025 Scenic Calendar is here!

I have so much fun making a new calendar every year. My goal is to come up with 12 new images each year that are “calendar worthy”. It’s something I think about all year as we are out and about photographing our adventures.

I was staring at the stunning Mount Shuksan perfectly reflected in Picture Lake when I realized that the battery in my camera was nearly depleted, and I didn’t have a backup.

We had discovered this wonderful place in the spring that had the best peach iced tea. Made with fresh peaches from their orchard, it was absolutely delicious! We sampled several varieties of peaches to determine our favorite and then bought some to take home with us. I observed that they also had a large apple orchard and thought a return visit in the fall might be in order. The place; Walters Fruit Ranch in Green Bluff Washington near Spokane.

One of my favorite places to eat breakfast is at Reflection Lake in Mount Rainier National Park.

On this particular morning, I had made the trip by myself in the middle of the week hoping to see some fall color and of course – Mount Rainier.  The skies were clear blue, and it was going to be a beautiful day.
