10 Things I’m Thankful For
Thanksgiving is almost here, and I have many things to be grateful for.
I’m thankful for my husband and my best friend Scott. I’m so glad I have someone to share the adventures with. The everyday things, and all of my ups and downs.
I’m thankful for good food. Food from my garden. Food in my kitchen. Food shared with others. I love growing food in my garden. I love cooking and baking with my daughter and granddaughters. I love sitting at the table with my family to enjoy a snack or a meal.
I’m thankful for music. Loud, quiet, soft, or intense; there’s always a song that will match my mood. If I’m not playing one of the many playlists I’ve created, then I have something that is looping in my head. I can’t imagine life without misic.
I’m thankful for sunrises and sunsets. They are beautiful and peaceful. Quiet and still with beautiful light. And nothing feeds my soul like a gorgeous sunrise. They’re a reminder that God is still here, and always faithful.
I’m thankful for running water. Yes really. Every time we return from a hike or a camping trip I find myself standing at the sink with my hands under the streaming water grateful for the time in which I live. How wonderful to have clean, running water with so little effort.
I’m thankful for my family. I have been blessed with a wonderful family. Gatherings are frequent and span 4 generations. And I absolutely love being Nana to three adorable girls.
I’m thankful for where I live. I live near both the mountains and the ocean. Tacoma has fabulous waterfront options for walks and sunsets. I may get tired of the rain from time to time, but I love the green it brings.
I’m thankful for adventures. I love living in a great place to explore and find beautiful new places. I love going to unplanned unexpected places to find them.
I’m thankful for good coffee. The day will start without it but it feels better with a good cup of coffee. I love finding those independent coffee houses who roast their own beans. There’s nothing like a good latte on a gray day.
I’m thankful for the night sky. Seeing the stars in a dark place on a moonless night is an amazing experience. There’s nothing like it.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1 ESV
This is only a few things to get started. More to come next week. What are you thankful for this season?
